A few days ago, Tahira Kashyap, the wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, shared an emotional yet lighthearted update on her breast cancer relapse after seven years. Expressing her gratitude for the support and prayers from her fans and followers, the author and filmmaker recently posted about her day at the hospital, blending her journey with music in a creative way.
On Friday, April 11, Tahira took to social media to share glimpses of her hospital visit for scans and imaging. The post was captioned, “Hospitals and music are deeply and surgically connected! #HospitalChronicles (Read each one with its music piece).” In the first slide, she shared how her doctor lightened the atmosphere by playing Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic track Kal Ho Naa Ho as she lay down, preparing for surgery. While she appreciated the gesture, she humorously requested him to stop the song soon after.
In the next slide, Tahira revealed the moment she was taken to the operating theater and saw the surgical tools being arranged on a tray. She recounted how her anesthesiologist asked her what song she’d like to hear before being put under anesthesia. Without missing a beat, Tahira humorously recalled that the only song running through her mind at that moment was Chakku Chhuriyan Tez Kara Lo from the classic Bollywood film Zanjeer, fitting the situation perfectly.
The post ended with a third slide where she shared her thoughts following the surgery. As she took a few rounds around the hospital corridor, she overheard a conversation with a 70-year-old lady whose door was slightly ajar. The elderly woman was engrossed in the latest gossip about a popular actor’s love life. Tahira couldn’t help but laugh when she overheard the lady, who seemed to be racing ahead of her, muttering, “If they can cause such a stir, why can’t I?” Reflecting on the power of cinema, she wrote, “I’ve always known the power of cinema both on and off the screen!”
Tahira Kashyap, who made her directorial debut with the slice-of-life film Sharmajee Ki Beti on Prime Video last year, once again showed her ability to mix humor with life’s challenges.
