TU Student Union (FSU) Elections 2081 Underway

The Free Student Union (FSU) elections are currently taking place at Tribhuvan University (TU) and its affiliated campuses.

Voting began on Tuesday at 8:00 AM in 46 constituent campuses and 250 affiliated campuses, according to Pashupati Adhikari, the member secretary of the FSU Central Monitoring and Coordination Committee. Voting will continue until 4:00 PM, after which the campus election committees will start counting votes from the evening itself. TU conducts FSU elections every two years.

Several student organizations affiliated with political parties, including ANNFSU, Nepal Student Union, ANNFSU (Revolutionary), ANNFSU, and an independent student group, are participating in the elections.

The FSU elections had not been held regularly since 2065 BS. The last nationwide election was held on Chaitra 15, 2073, followed by another on Chaitra 5, 2079, except in a few campuses. TU originally conducted elections through a direct system from 2018–19 BS, holding them annually until 2030 BS, and then every two years from 2036 BS onward.
