Police in Kathmandu have arrested two individuals accused of swindling over NPR 5.8 million (approximately USD 43,500) from hopeful individuals dreaming of working abroad. The alleged fraudsters, Naveena Dahal Ghimire (31) from Dolakha and Lachhuman Sah Teli (43) from Sarlahi, were publicly identified by Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Kaji Kumar Acharya.
According to authorities, Naveena Dahal Ghimire is accused of taking NPR 5.2 million from two victims with the promise of sending them to the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, Lachhuman Sah Teli allegedly collected NPR 600,000 from three individuals, promising them jobs in Qatar. Both suspects then disappeared, prompting victims to report the large-scale fraud to the police. The duo was apprehended in Kathmandu following these complaints. They have since been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and legal action.
