Two young girls drowned in separate incidents in Rautahat on Tuesday.
According to the police, 2-year-old Alisha Khatun from Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality-8, Bijaypur Tole, drowned in the nearby Aruwa River in the afternoon. She was rescued and taken to National Hospital, Bijaypur, but she passed away during treatment.
Similarly, 14-month-old Srishti Kumari from Madhav Narayan Municipality-4, Bishunpura, drowned in a bucket of water in the evening. She was rushed to Health Land Hospital, Garuda, but she could not be saved.
Police are investigating both incidents.
