The release date for the film Viral Gorkhe, directed by Nigam Shrestha, has been confirmed. The producers announced on Friday that the film will be released nationwide starting from Jestha 30.
One of the posters features actor Saugat Malla portraying a viral moment while going live on social media. In another poster, he is seen in a romantic avatar with actress Srishti Shrestha.
The film aims to critique the trend of becoming viral on social media. “With the growing use and influence of social media, the trend of doing anything to go viral has been steadily increasing,” said director Shrestha. “The story of this film focuses on the consequences and impact of chasing viral fame.”
Produced under the banners of GMI Academy and Nirvana Film School, the film stars Buddhi Tamang, Laxmi Giri, Rajaram Paudel, and Rishi Dhamala. The producers of the film are Bishal Tamrakar, Mahesh Lamichhane, and Kewaljang Kunwar, with co-producers Bhuvan Adhikari and Nikhil Paudel.
Cinematography for the film is by Amar Maharjan, and it was shot in various locations including Bhujung village in Lamjung, Gorkha, and Chitwan.
