The teaser for the movie Bhuthan, starring Hari Bansha Acharya in the lead role, has been released. In the teaser, Hari Bansha plays the role of a Bhutanese immigrant in America, who is mentally disturbed after failing to return to his homeland.

The teaser also features Dayahang Rai and Joyash Pande as brothers, debating whether to cremate or bury their father’s body.

The movie touches on topics like same-sex relationships and traditional customs.

Hollywood actor Bruce Dern also makes his debut in a Nepali film directed by a Nepali director.

The film, titled The World’s Happiest Man in English, stars Hari Bansha Acharya, Dayahang Rai, Anuradha Majumdar, Pooja Chand, Richa Ghimire, Joyash Pande, Aditi Pyakurel, Tom Crane, Bimal Suvedi, and Bruce Dern in special roles.

This is the first Nepali film produced under the SAG-AFTRA guidelines, with some Hollywood technicians working on it.

The movie is directed by Vinod Paudel. The main producers are Abiral Thapa, Rajendra Thakurathi, Amitav Joshi, Sushank Menali, and Kirtana Banskota, while the executive producers are Bikash Bhito Adhikari, Kaushila Khanal, Ramesh Bhatt, Apar Shrestha, and Bhuwan Pyakurel. The co-producers are Joyash Pande, Pradeep Sharma (Badain), Raju Paudel, Rabin Pokharel, and Navraj Parajuli.

The film features cinematography by Susant Prajapati, editing by Anjay Khadka, sound by Dikesh Khadgi Shahi, and music by Sambaran Prethu Rai.

Bhuthan will be released on 12th of Baishakh. The film’s title refers to a place that once felt like home but has now been lost.
