WhatsApp's New Privacy Feature Will Stop Your Gallery From Filling Up

Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, is testing a new privacy feature aimed especially at iPhone (iOS) users. This feature is designed to keep your private chats and media even more secure.

What is the Advanced Chat Privacy Feature?

According to WABetaInfo, the feature has appeared in the beta version 25.10.10.70 of WhatsApp for iOS. Named “Advanced Chat Privacy,” this new feature allows users to have more control over the media files (photos and videos) they send through WhatsApp.

Key Benefits of the Feature

1. Stops Auto-Saving of Media

If you turn on this feature, people who receive your photos and videos on WhatsApp will no longer be able to save them automatically to their phone’s gallery. This gives you full control over what happens to the files you send.

2. Chat Export Will Be Blocked

Once enabled, others won’t be able to export your chat history to another device. This adds an extra layer of protection to your private conversations.

3. Limits Meta AI Interactions

This feature may also limit how Meta’s AI chatbot interacts with your messages. This helps keep your personal data more secure and private from AI access.

How Does This Feature Work?

When the feature is active and someone tries to save a photo or video you sent, they will see a popup saying: “Advanced chat privacy has been turned on, and prevents media auto-saving to your device’s gallery.” This alert makes it clear that saving is restricted.

When Will It Be Available?

The feature is still under development and is not yet available even to registered beta users through Apple’s TestFlight program. However, it is expected to be rolled out for beta testing in the coming weeks.

The Advanced Chat Privacy feature will soon offer more safety and control for WhatsApp users, especially on iPhones. With auto-saving blocked, chat exports restricted, and AI access limited, your chats and media will be more private than ever before.
