Fire in Plywood Factory Dang

The massive fire at a plywood factory in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Khaira, has become extremely difficult to control due to multiple factors. Firefighters and security forces are struggling to contain the flames, which have already destroyed the entire factory structure.

According to officials, the fire has worsened due to the large quantity of wood and raw materials stored in the factory. Since plywood is highly flammable, the fire spread rapidly and has continued burning intensely. The strong flames and extreme heat have made it difficult for firefighters to get close and douse the fire effectively.

The factory, identified as the Ganapati Plywood Industry, is spread over approximately seven bighas of land, making it challenging to cover the entire affected area. Initially, fire trucks from Dang were deployed, but as the situation worsened, additional fire trucks were requested from Banke, Bardiya, Kapilvastu, and Rupandehi. This delay in reinforcements further allowed the fire to intensify.

Officials also noted that weather conditions and wind speed might have contributed to the fire spreading more aggressively. While efforts continue to bring the fire under control, authorities have assured that nearby residential areas are being protected to prevent further damage.

The extent of financial loss is yet to be fully assessed, but initial estimates suggest damages worth millions. Firefighters and security personnel are still working tirelessly to put out the remaining flames.
