In Chanaura, Rajbiraj Municipality-1 of Saptari, a mother gave poison to her son and then drank poison herself. After the incident, the 4-year-old boy died, and the mother is in serious condition.
The mother, 25-year-old Kajal Devi Safi, poisoned her son, Saurabh Kumar Safi, on Sunday evening after a family dispute. After he became critically ill, Saurabh was taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj. Later, he was sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, but treatment was not successful. From there, he was referred to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar.
Police Superintendent Dhakendra Khatri said that the boy died during treatment on Monday morning. Kajal Devi is still being treated at Nobel Hospital, and her condition remains serious. Police said further investigation into the case is ongoing.
