Jit Bahadur Bal Tamang, a 56-year-old man from Phulbari, Aathrai Tribeni Rural Municipality-2, has gone missing after being swept away by the Tamor River.
He went missing on Saturday evening, and local people, along with the police,e searched for him late into the night.
According to Ward Chairman Tikendra Sendang, Jeet Bahadur had gone to see an excavator working near the river with his nephew. His nephew later informed the village that he had gone missing.
Police said he disappeared after entering the river to swim.
To search for him, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Dawa Thing from the Area Police Office Dobhan has been deployed, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabi Rawal.
