A 9-year-old girl died after being attacked by a leopard on Monday morning. The incident occurred at Saryu Community Forest, located near the dumping site in Gulariya-8.
According to the police, Melina Khadka from Geruwa Rural Municipality-6 was attacked by the leopard while she was collecting grass and firewood in the forest with her aunt.
Superintendent of Police Kedar Khanal stated that she died during treatment at the district hospital. Khadka had come to her aunt’s house a few days earlier.
Since last November, three people have died in Bardiya due to leopard attacks.
