Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has ordered action against those involved in leaking a photo taken inside police custody.
The photo shows Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, who is in Kaski Police custody over a cooperative fraud case. Minister Lekhak instructed that action be taken against both the person who leaked the photo and the police personnel responsible for the security lapse.
The issue arose after a photo of Rabi Lamichhane lying under a blanket in a small room went viral on social media. This sparked questions about how the image was leaked from inside custody. Home Minister Lekhak also discussed the matter with Inspector General of Police Basanta Kunwar. He said, “I have directed that the incident be thoroughly investigated and necessary action taken.”
