Bhool Chuk Maaf Day 2: Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s latest family drama Bhool Chuk Maaf continues to gain momentum at the box office. After earning ₹7.2 crore on its opening day, the film collected ₹9 crore on its second day, bringing its total India net collection to ₹16 crore, according to trade analyst Sacnilk.
Good Growth on Saturday Shows Audience Interest
Bhool Chuk Maaf witnessed a positive jump on Saturday. The Hindi occupancy rate on Day 2 averaged 25.18% across all shows. Here’s a breakdown:
- Morning: 10.46%
- Afternoon: 27.27%
- Evening: 29.11%
- Night: 33.87%
Interestingly, Chennai recorded the highest occupancy at a remarkable 85%, indicating strong regional interest.
Competition at the Box Office
The film was released alongside Kesari Veer, starring Suniel Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi. However, Kesari Veer failed to make a mark, earning just ₹25 lakh on its opening day and ₹26 lakh on Day 2.
Bhool Chuk Maaf also faced tough competition from Hollywood blockbusters like Final Destination: Bloodlines and Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, both of which outperformed many Bollywood films in 2025.
Compared to Rajkummar Rao’s Recent Films
So far, Bhool Chuk Maaf has performed better than Rao’s recent releases including Srikanth, Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi. However, it still falls short when compared to big 2025 hits like Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh starring Akshay Kumar, and Sunny Deol’s Jaat.
Star Cast and Streaming Details
Directed by Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf features a talented cast including Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Anubha Fatehpuria, Raghubir Yadav, and Seema Pahwa. After its theatrical run, the film will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, just two weeks after its release.
Mixed Reviews and a Controversial Release Strategy
While the movie has found an audience, critics have been mixed. SCREEN’s review stated the film “looks and feels like the poor man’s Brahmastra,” pointing out its heavy reliance on Varanasi visuals and clichéd storytelling. It also highlighted the controversy around its quick OTT release, calling it a concerning trend in the industry.
