Five wooden bridges have been washed away by a flood in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha district, cutting off access between multiple wards and causing major disruptions.
According to DSP Daksha Kumar Basnet of the District Police Office, Wednesday’s flood swept away:
- Two wooden bridges over the Dungopa River connecting Wards 1, 2, and 3,
- One bridge at Ghangjung linking Wards 1 and 3,
- Bridges over Chhokang Khola and Mapchya Khola, also connecting Wards 1 and 3.
- Two small hydropower projects in Ward 3 were destroyed by a recent flood, leaving 250 households without electricity.
- The Khadbari–Kimathanka road section of the Koshi Highway has been washed away at Hatiya and HungHung, completely halting transportation services in the area.
