An arrest warrant has been issued against Lumbini Province MP Suman Sharma Rayamajhi from the Janamat Party in connection with a banking fraud case. The Parsa District Court issued the warrant on Jestha 16 at the request of the police.
Rayamajhi, a resident of Gulariya-5 in Bardiya, is accused of borrowing Rs. 2.75 lakh from Asha Kumari Chauhan and later issuing a cheque that bounced due to insufficient funds. The cheque was drawn from Everest Bank.
Police have confirmed legal proceedings are underway. However, attempts to contact Rayamajhi have failed as her mobile number remains unreachable.
Party spokesperson Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav commented that no formal discussion has taken place within the Janamat Party, calling it a personal financial matter unrelated to the party’s stance.
Rayamajhi, elected as a proportional representative MP, had previously served as a minister under both UML and Maoist-led provincial governments. She was earlier affiliated with the JSP party.
