Aamir Khan Surprises Fans with Heartfelt Thanks During ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Theatre Screening

Aamir Khan made a heartwarming appearance at a Mumbai theatre recently, catching fans completely off guard during the screening of his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par. The moment was captured and shared on the official YouTube channel of Aamir Khan Talkies, quickly gaining attention online.

Joined by the film’s young debutant cast, Aamir greeted moviegoers mid-show, prompting an outpouring of cheers, claps, and emotional praise from the audience. The actor, visibly moved by the reaction, asked, “Kaesi lagi film?” (How did you like the film?), to which fans responded with shouts of “superb” and “we’re proud of you.”

Aamir took a moment to introduce the film’s director RS Prasanna and key crew members, expressing his gratitude: “Thank you so much for the love you are giving us. We really appreciate it and are truly touched.” He reserved special praise for the newcomers in the cast, calling them “the heart and soul of the film.”

A few of the debut actors also addressed the crowd, visibly thrilled by the love and encouragement from the audience.

About the Film

Sitaare Zameen Par, considered a spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, features 10 fresh faces—Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar—alongside lead actors Aamir Khan and Genelia D’Souza.

The film is directed by RS Prasanna, with a screenplay by Divy Nidhi Sharma. It features music by the renowned trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The project is jointly produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka also backing the film. It was released in cinemas on June 20 and has already earned close to ₹60 crore, as reported by Sacnilk.com.

No Rush to OTT

In an unusual move for the digital age, Aamir Khan has reportedly declined a ₹120 crore offer from Amazon Prime Video for the streaming rights, choosing to keep Sitaare Zameen Par exclusive to theatres for an extended run. According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Aamir is determined to preserve the theatrical experience for his audience.

With such a strong response from both critics and the public, Sitaare Zameen Par continues to win hearts—on and off the screen.
