Veteran actor and filmmaker Anupam Kher launched the much-anticipated trailer for his next directorial, Tanvi The Great, at a grand event in Mumbai today, June 30. The film, which tells a deeply emotional and inspiring story of resilience and hope, has already made its mark at international festivals and is gearing up for a worldwide release on July 18, 2025.
The trailer introduces audiences to Tanvi, a spirited autistic girl determined to prove that being different doesn’t mean being less. Portrayed by debutante Shubhangi, Tanvi’s journey to join the army despite her condition reflects unwavering courage and a heart full of purpose. The film highlights her inner strength and how her indomitable spirit inspires those around her.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Farhan Akhtar wrote:

The film boasts a powerful ensemble cast including Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and international actor Iain Glen. Accompanied by a stirring soundtrack composed by Oscar-winning music director M.M. Keeravani, the film promises to take audiences on a moving and empowering cinematic journey.
Tanvi The Great received a standing ovation at the New York Indian Film Festival and was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Hollywood legend Robert De Niro was among those who attended its screening in New York, adding to the buzz surrounding the film.
Produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with NFDC, the film’s global distribution is being handled by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and AA Films (Anil Thadani).
