An attempted fatal attack on a woman took place in Baiteshwar Rural Municipality, Dolakha, on Monday. The attack was related to a family property dispute, where local resident Usha Tamang was targeted with a khukuri.
Tamang is also a teacher at Baiteshwar Secondary School. The attack attempt occurred near the school on Monday, but locals intervened and saved her.
According to the Dolakha District Police Office, the attack was attempted by Sundar Adhikari, a resident of Bhimeshwar Municipality-5 and a relative of Tamang. Inspector Dataram Adhikari from the Dolakha District Police Office confirmed that a complaint regarding the khukuri attack has been filed with the police.
“It appears that the incident was caused by a family dispute. We have received a complaint, and we will proceed with the legal process,” said Inspector Adhikari. “We will now arrest the accused and move forward with the investigation.”
According to authorities, the family dispute arose over property division. The case is also under consideration in court, as revealed by the police.
