Suresh Rajak, a cameraman with Avenues Television, tragically lost his life in a fire at a residence in Tinkune, Kathmandu, which was set alight by royalist protesters.
The incident unfolded during a violent demonstration by royalists, who had clashed with the police. The protesters believed that the residents of the house were law enforcement officers.
Following the confrontation, the house, known as Marble House, was deliberately set on fire. Rajak’s charred remains were later found inside the building, making the situation even more disturbing.
As the police continue their investigation, it has been confirmed that Rajak, who was working for Avenues Television, was among those affected. Prior to the arson, the royalists had pelted the house with stones, smashing all the windows before setting the property ablaze.
Authorities are gathering witness statements to piece together the events that led to Rajak’s tragic death.
