Helicopter Makes Safe Landing

A helicopter flying from Lukla Airport in Solukhumbu to Kathmandu with six passengers was damaged when it collided with a bird.

The helicopter, with the registration number 9N-AKG and operated by Heli Everest, was forced to make an emergency landing in Dandabari, Banepa Municipality-10, in Kavrepalanchok after the bird strike. The pilot safely landed the helicopter at around 11:02 AM, just an hour after it took off from Lukla at 10 AM.

The bird strike caused damage to the front glass of the helicopter. A technical team from Kathmandu was sent to inspect the helicopter before it could fly again. Fortunately, both the pilot and passengers were unharmed. The passengers were safely transported to Kathmandu by vehicle.

After completing technical checks and minor repairs, the helicopter took off from Kavre and is now on its way to land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

The helicopter was carrying five American nationals and one pilot.
