NEPSE Falls by 21.12 Points, Turnover Reaches NPR 547 Crores

The stock market dropped by 21.12 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

With this decline, the NEPSE index settled at 2,609 points. Although the market reached 2,640 points by around 12:45 PM, it couldn’t sustain the level. The index fell due to increased selling pressure after that time.

Trading volume slightly increased. Compared to last Thursday’s transaction of NPR 532 crores, today’s turnover reached NPR 547 crores. Prices of 69 companies increased, while 172 declined, and 2 remained unchanged.

The microfinance sector recorded the highest growth of 1.12%. Similarly, the “Others” group rose by 0.29%. The finance sector saw the steepest decline, dropping by 4.47%. Other declines included banking by 0.87%, development banks by 2.65%, hydropower by 1.73%, investment by 0.66%, life insurance by 0.39%, manufacturing by 0.81%, non-life insurance by 0.12%, and trading by 1.03%.

Among individual stocks, the prices of Mahila Laghubitta and Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta rose by 10%. Manushi Laghubitta increased by 6.09%, Srijanshil Laghubitta by 5.89%, and NRN Infrastructure by 5.7%.

Five companies witnessed a 10% decline in their share prices: Support Microfinance, Narayani Development Bank, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Janaki Finance, and Sindhu Development Bank. Additionally, Joshi Hydropower fell by 8.7%, Green Development by 8.3%, and Best Finance by 7.1%.

Based on transaction amounts, Prabhu Bank, Janaki Finance, NRN Infrastructure, NLG Insurance, and River Falls Power were the top performers, respectively.
