Kathmandu, Jestha 6 – Professor Dr. Bishwo Paudel is set to be appointed as the new Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.
According to sources, a final agreement was reached between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to give Paudel the top post. Their discussion ended in consensus on Tuesday morning after days of negotiation.
Dr. Paudel is the former Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission and was also a member of the recommendation committee for the governor post. He resigned from the committee after Nepali Congress proposed him as their candidate.
His appointment is expected to be announced officially very soon.
