The body of Member of Parliament Deepak Bohara is being transported to Bhairahawa by a military helicopter. His secretary, Taramani Chand, informed everyone that his body would be kept at the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) office in Rupandehi throughout the day for people to pay their respects.
Chand also mentioned that tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, the body will be brought to the party’s central office in Kathmandu. The public will be able to pay their tributes at the office, and his final rites will take place at Aryaghat tomorrow.
Bohara, a senior RPP leader and former minister, passed away while undergoing treatment at Om Hospital in Kathmandu. The 76-year-old was elected as a Member of Parliament from Rupandehi Constituency No. 3.
Bohara had been unable to speak due to post-COVID issues. He contracted COVID-19 during the second wave of the pandemic (May 2020). Several months after the infection, changes in his voice were noticed.
Later, he traveled to Delhi for further treatment, where doctors confirmed that his throat problems were related to post-COVID complications. His condition worsened, prompting him to seek treatment in New York, where he has been undergoing speech therapy ever since.
