Tinkune Update: Durga Prasai, a key leader of the pro-monarchy movement, has urged protesters not to damage private property.
During the demonstration in Tinkune, some protesters threw stones at private houses. In response, Prasai took to social media to appeal for calm and discourage any form of vandalism.
After leaving the protest site, he accused the government of trying to suppress their movement. “Due to police repression, private properties were damaged. Many of our supporters and police officers were injured. I express my sorrow over this and wish for the quick recovery of the injured. I sincerely request everyone not to attack private property,” he stated.
Prasai also claimed that security forces disrupted their peaceful rally. “The government tried to silence us. While we were heading towards the event location, police fired tear gas and used batons even before we reached. They even fired tear gas from houses in Tinkune to stop us from starting our program,” he alleged.
Prasai further posted on social media, expressing his frustration with the authorities. His exact words were: “Friends, today this incompetent government tried to silence us. As we peacefully marched towards the event venue, the police fired tear gas and baton-charged us before we even arrived. They even hid inside houses in Tinkune and fired tear gas to prevent us from starting our program. I have heard that this government is planning to eliminate me. Whether I stay or not, the movement must continue. Only by changing this system will our campaign find peace. Due to police suppression, private properties were damaged, and many of our supporters and police officers were injured. I express my sorrow for this and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. I also sincerely urge everyone not to attack private property.”
