An earthquake on Tuesday morning caused damage to two houses in Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality.
According to police, a two-story house made of stone and mud with a stone roof, owned by 50-year-old Harka Bahadur Khatri in Thulung Dudhkoshi-7, Deusa Luruwa, was damaged.
Similarly, a two-story house made of stone, mud, and tin roof, owned by Ang Ngima Sherpa in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu-5, Helajung, also suffered damage, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dwarika Prasad Ghimire confirmed. A police team has been sent to the affected areas, and further details are yet to be confirmed.
Chief District Officer Anoj Kumar Ghimire stated that a detailed report on the damage in the district is still awaited. Meanwhile, all rescue and relief mechanisms, including the police, are on standby for possible emergencies.
