A fire broke out last night in Jaigad Bazaar of Bannigadhi Jayagadh Rural Municipality in the Achham district, burning down 27 houses.
According to Achham’s police chief, Ishwari Prasad Bhandari, the fire caused damage worth more than 70 million rupees.
The fire started after a gas cylinder exploded at an IME center run by Pushparaj Sharma in the main market area.
Out of the 27 houses that burned, 11 were being used by local shopkeepers for their businesses.
