Rohit Rana, a 27-year-old resident of Rampur in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1, Chitwan, has gone missing in the Trishuli River.
He was thrown into the Trishuli River following a motorcycle accident in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 along the Narayanghat-Muglin road section. Search efforts are currently underway.
According to Inspector Nirala Bhandari of the Area Police Office, Muglin, Rana was traveling alone from Rampur to Kathmandu on a motorcycle with registration number Ba 006-02 P 9204.
Inspector Bhandari stated that his family members have been contacted.
“The family members have just arrived,” she told The Ritible. “He was riding the motorcycle alone.”
A team of divers from the Disaster Management Training Academy of the Armed Police Force, Kurintar, is searching for him in the Trishuli River.
The accident occurred at around 11:50 AM when his motorcycle hit a roadside divider. However, the motorcycle remains on the road.
“He was thrown off after hitting the divider,” Inspector Bhandari said. “The search is ongoing, but he has not been found yet.”
Local residents informed the police after witnessing him fall into the river from his motorcycle.
Originally from former Chandreshwor VDC-3 in Lamjung, Rana was currently residing in Rampur, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1, Chitwan. He was serving in the Indian Army.
At the accident site, his wallet, some documents, clothes, and shoes were found.
