A man arrested this morning with Rs. 25 Crore has been identified as 39-year-old Kusan Lama from Sindhupalchok.
Police arrested him in the Jhor area of Kathmandu earlier today.
According to the police, he was previously involved in gold smuggling. In 2021, he was caught with 7 kg of gold in Kalanki but was later released.
At that time, he was arrested while transporting gold in a Hilux vehicle (Ba 8 Cha 7420) from Rasuwa to Kathmandu via Galchi.
This morning, police caught him again while he was heading towards Kerung in a truck (Na 7 Kha 1652) with a false bottom used to hide the money.
Further investigation is ongoing, and police will provide more details in a press conference later today.
