A man was brutally beaten at the Rising Nepal Rehabilitation Center in Gaur Municipality-4, Rautahat.
A video shared on social media shows the man being severely beaten, especially on the soles of his feet, with what looks like a plastic pipe.
In the 41-second video, three people are seen holding the man down while another hits him with a stick. Background music is played, seemingly to cover the sound of the man’s cries.
According to DSP Deepak Kumar Raya of the District Police Office, Rautahat, the incident took place at a rehabilitation center run by a local resident in Gaur. “As soon as we saw the video, we began an investigation,” he told Onlinekhabar.
The operator of the center has been summoned by police and the investigation is underway. DSP Raya said the truth will be confirmed after the investigation, and legal action will be taken accordingly.
