Gavaskar also pointed out flaws in CSK’s IPL 2025 mega auction strategy. He criticized the franchise for relying too much on local leagues when selecting players. “Success in leagues like the Jharkhand or UP League doesn’t always mean success in IPL,” said the former Indian captain.

Even though MS Dhoni made a comeback, CSK’s performance was underwhelming in IPL 2025. Gavaskar advised the team to focus on building a strong bowling lineup rather than relying on small-league stars. Quality scouting will be key for CSK’s success in the future.
