A man died after being hit by a passenger bus on the East-West Highway at Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-8 in Makwanpur.
According to Makwanpur District Police Office spokesperson, DSP Shyamu Aryal, 36-year-old Parbezh Ansari from Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality-3, Kataiya (Parsa district), died after being hit by a bus (registration number Na 7 Kha 1101) that was traveling from Pokhara to Katari, Udayapur.
Ansari was seriously injured in the accident and died during treatment at Hetauda Hospital this morning.
Police said that Ansari was the owner of a truck (registration number Na 5 Kha 8668). His truck had broken down in the area, and while he was walking to deliver parts and a mechanic for repairs, he was hit by the bus.
The bus and its driver, 39-year-old Yuvaraj Majhi from Katari Municipality-2, Udayapur, have been taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
