Rabi Lamichhane Taken to Bhairahawa After Custody Order

Preparations are being made to take Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane to Bhairahawa.

According to police sources, he was taken out of the custody of the District Police Office, Kathmandu, and brought to Tribhuvan International Airport.

Lamichhane, who was arrested from his residence on Friday night, is being flown to Bhairahawa by the police. On Friday night, he was kept in the custody of the District Police Office in Bhadrakali, Kathmandu.

He was scheduled to be flown to Bhairahawa on an 8 PM flight, but police said the flight was delayed for some time. He is being taken via a Yeti Airlines aircraft.

RSP President Rabi Lamichhane, who is facing allegations of cooperative fraud, was ordered to be remanded into custody by the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court on Friday. Following the order, police took him into custody from his residence in Budhanilkantha that night.

In connection with the Supreme Cooperative case in Butwal, the Rupandehi District Court had previously demanded bail of one crore rupees from him. However, the High Court overturned that decision and ordered him to be kept in custody.
