Actor Rajesh Hamal has expressed confidence that the upcoming film Mayavi, set to release on Wednesday, will revitalize the Nepali film industry. He shared his thoughts during the film’s premiere event on Monday evening at a theater in Kirtipur.
After watching the film, Hamal stated, “The movie has everything. The storyline is touching, the use of songs and music is excellent, and the background score is outstanding. The actors have performed brilliantly. I am confident that Mayavi will create a buzz in the market.”
He further added, “Among all the love stories I have seen so far, this one stands out. You can’t predict how it will end. It beautifully portrays how human emotions can take unexpected turns. This is a special love story film.”
Hamal also praised the film’s presentation. Reflecting on his previous work with director Diwakar Bhattarai in Narasimha Avatar, he admitted, “I was curious about his directorial style, but this film is made exceptionally well. I congratulate Diwakar Ji for his work.”
The premiere event was attended by director Gyanendra Deuja, former Miss Nepal Usha Khadgi, and actors Sanisha Bhattarai, Usha Upreti, and Ram Krishna Dhakal, among others. The film’s lead actors, including Deepika Prasai, Prashant Tamrakar, Karishma Shrestha, Sushil Sitaula, Rajaram Poudel, Anshu Maharjan, and Samim Khan, were also present.
However, actor Pal Shah could not attend the premiere as he was in Rolpa for the shooting of another film.
Mayavi is produced by Dhruv Nyaupane, Raj Katuwal, and Chandra Pant, with the storyline set around Pokhara. The film’s executive producers are Praveen Bhattarai and Karan Singh, while Raju Parajuli and Sumit Wali serve as co-producers. Nem Maharjan is also an investor under Creative Cine Arts.
Advance ticket sales for the film have already begun, and the movie has secured favorable showtimes.
