Bollywood’s outspoken star Rakhi Sawant has once again come forward in support of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. As the controversy around Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3 grows, Rakhi has stood by Hania, asking what fault lies with the actress herself.
Movie faces boycott calls in India
Sardaar Ji 3 has been receiving backlash in India due to the inclusion of Hania Aamir, a Pakistani actress, in its cast. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, there has been a sentiment in India against allowing Pakistani artists in films. The result? Many are demanding a complete ban on the film as well as a boycott of Diljit Dosanjh.
Rakhi reminds everyone of past cross-border collaborations
Rakhi Sawant, known for her dramatic flair and bold opinions, reminded the public that this isn’t the first time Pakistani artists have worked in Indian cinema. She even cited examples where Pakistani actresses worked with big names like Shah Rukh Khan without similar outrage.
Rakhi believes Hania did nothing wrong
Defending Hania, Rakhi said, “Why target her? Diljit himself clarified that Hania was signed before the current tensions began. If that’s the case, many celebrities should be boycotted too. Everyone wants to make movies on Pakistan. What’s the artist’s fault in this?”
She stands by Hania, personally and professionally
Rakhi also shared that she genuinely likes Hania Aamir and wants to see her work in Bollywood. “She’s my favorite. I love her. I really do,” she said emotionally, urging fans to understand Hania’s side of the story instead of blaming her for political issues.
