Sanvikaa, best known as Rinki in the popular web series Panchayat, recently revealed she was initially uncomfortable with a proposed kissing scene. In a candid interview with Just Too Filmy, she spoke about how the scene was changed after she expressed her hesitation.
Sanvikaa says she needed time to think about the kissing scene
Sanvikaa shared that during the narration of the script, nothing was mentioned at first. But later, the show’s director Akshat approached her and said they wanted to include a kissing scene between her character Rinki and Sachiv ji .
“At first, the scene had Rinki falling in the car, and then they kissed. I asked for two days to decide if I was comfortable,” she said. “I thought about how Panchayat is watched by all kinds of people, especially families.”
She ultimately said no and the scene was changed
The actress admitted she was worried about how audiences would react, and she personally wasn’t comfortable doing such a scene. As a result, the team decided to remove the car scene and instead included a different version—commonly known as the “tanki” scene.
“They told me it would be shot in an aesthetic way. Even then, it felt awkward while shooting,” she added.
Jitendra Kumar helped make her feel comfortable on set
Sanvikaa also praised her co-star Jitendra Kumar for being respectful and understanding. “Jeetu is a really nice person. He knows how to make others feel comfortable,” she said.
When asked if she had discussed the scene with her family, she replied, “I haven’t talked to my family about it yet, but they understand me and will handle it well.”
Panchayat continues to be a fan favorite despite mixed reviews for season 4
Set in the fictional village of Phulera, Panchayat follows the life of Abhishek Tripathi, an urban graduate who becomes the secretary of a rural panchayat office. The show features a strong ensemble cast including Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy.
While seasons one to three received widespread love for their humor and simplicity, season four got mixed feedback. Some viewers liked the emotional tone, while others felt it lost the charm of earlier seasons. The season finale in particular was criticized as the weakest so far.
