The sixth BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit has commenced.
The summit began at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok with a group photo session of the heads of government of the member countries and the presentation of the agenda.
The Prime Minister of Thailand, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, welcomed the leaders of the delegations from the member countries.
Today, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, along with the heads of government from the member states, is scheduled to deliver their addresses during the summit.
Following the signing of the ‘BIMSTEC Maritime Transport Cooperation’ agreement, the Prime Ministers (heads of delegations) from Thailand, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka will deliver their remarks.
