A tourism promotion program focused on Nepal was held in Sri Lanka under the theme “Lumbini and Beyond.” The event was organized by the Nepalese Embassy in Sri Lanka in coordination with the Nepal Tourism Board.

The program aimed to promote sustainable tourism in Nepal and strengthen the cultural and people-to-people ties between Nepal and Sri Lanka. The event took place on Monday at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.
Ambassador Highlights Historic Bond
Nepal’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Dr. Purna Bahadur Nepali, spoke about the deep historical, cultural, and religious connection between the two countries. He emphasized that the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha, Lumbini, has spiritually linked Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Nepal Tourism Board Gives Rich Presentation
The Nepal Tourism Board presented a multimedia showcase featuring popular destinations like Pokhara, Mount Everest and the Annapurna Base Camp, Chitwan, and heritage cities like Bhaktapur and Patan.
Focus on Spiritual and Adventure Tourism
According to the embassy, the campaign targets Sri Lankan tourists interested in pilgrimage routes, mountain adventures, meditation, and cultural experiences.
