Govinda, one of the most beloved actors of the 90s, has left a lasting impression on audiences with his memorable roles. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, known for speaking her mind, recently shared why she stopped managing his career — it all started when he didn’t listen to her advice about moving to OTT platforms.
In a recent interview with Zoom, Sunita revealed, “I had told him OTT would become big.” But when she suggested he make the switch, Govinda didn’t take her advice seriously. Because of this, Sunita decided to step back from managing his career.
She also opened up about Govinda’s friends, saying they never gave him honest advice. Instead, they always agreed with whatever he said, which isn’t always good for him. Sunita added that Govinda loves hearing praise rather than the truth. She also thinks he should lose weight to stay in shape and keep up with the times. Plus, she believes it’s important for him to pick better films and work with good directors, something she feels he is currently missing.
Sunita addressed rumors about their divorce and Govinda’s alleged extramarital affairs. She firmly denied these rumors, saying only news from her or Govinda should be trusted. She also urged fans to check facts before believing gossip. According to her, neither she nor Govinda can live without each other.
Though Govinda hasn’t acted in an OTT project yet, some of his films like Sajan Chale Sasural and Haseena Maan Jayegi are available on streaming platforms.
On the family front, Govinda and Sunita have two children, Yashvardhan and Tina Ahuja. Yashvardhan is soon set to make his own Bollywood debut.
