Two children were killed on the spot when a water tanker hit them in Banke’s Daduwa Municipality.
The incident occurred at Betahani Chowk in Daduwa-2 when the tanker, numbered VE 1 Kha 4107, struck 8-year-old Bishal Godiya and 9-year-old Siukumar Godiya, causing their deaths, said DSP Yam Bahadur Malla of Banke.
After the children’s death, tensions rose in the area. Angry locals set the water tanker on fire, and stones were thrown at the police station. The police have arrested the driver, and protests are still ongoing.
