A scooter rider has died after being hit by a tipper truck in Kathmandu.
On Saturday night, a tipper (number Na 6 Kha 5100) hit a scooter (number Pradesh 3–02 006 Pa 0096) on the road near Maiti Nepal Chowk in Gokarneshwar Municipality-4.
The scooter rider, 23-year-old Pasang Sherpa from Talinchok, Gokarneshwar, was seriously injured in the accident.
Sherpa, originally from Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-7 in Solukhumbu, was taken to Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel for treatment. However, he passed away later that night during treatment, according to police.
Police have taken the tipper driver into custody and started an investigation.
