Two arrested for gold theft in Syangja

Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a recent gold theft in Waling Municipality–6 of Syangja district.

The arrested are 34-year-old Deepa Kshetri, a permanent resident of Chapakot–4 currently living in Walling–6, and 32-year-old Durga B.K. from Waling–9.

Stolen jewelry recovered
According to Syangja District Police Office, the stolen gold jewelry was recovered from the accused. The theft took place on 17 Asar from the house of Thankumari Pandey in Walling–6. Two gold bangles (Pancharatna Bala) weighing about half a tola were stolen.

Court grants 10-day custody
The police have received permission from the Syangja District Court to keep the suspects in custody for 10 days for further investigation.

Public alerted
Police have urged the public to remain alert, stating that the arrested individuals were suspected of involvement in similar thefts in the surrounding areas, targeting houses and stealing gold jewelry worn by residents.
