Actor Veer Pahariya, who recently celebrated his 30th birthday, shared a heartfelt note reminiscing about his teenage obsession with Bollywood. Taking to Instagram, he recalled how, at the age of 13, he meticulously planned and recreated the hit song Dard-E-Disco from Shah Rukh Khan’s 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. His dedication went beyond just learning the choreography—he even followed a strict diet to achieve a six-pack physique.
The Effort Behind the Re-Creation Veer Pahariya went to great lengths to bring his vision to life. He kept his project a secret from his family, financing it without their knowledge. His attention to detail included organizing lights, fans, leaves, props, costumes, and dancers. With limited resources, he shot the entire performance in one take on a Sony Handycam, as he lacked editing skills at the time.
One of the most impressive aspects of the recreation was the fire sequence. To achieve the dramatic effect, he and his friends lit up the room and used deodorant to enhance the flames. “We had only one attempt to get it right,” Veer recalled, describing it as a moment of sheer passion and enthusiasm.
A Special Tribute to SRK and Bollywood Sharing an edited version of his teenage performance alongside clips of Shah Rukh Khan’s original, Veer expressed deep gratitude toward the superstar and filmmaker Farah Khan. In his post, he wrote, “Thank you @iamsrk and @farahkhankunder for changing my life.” He concluded by thanking God for helping him achieve his dreams, acknowledging how Bollywood has shaped his journey.
Veer’s Bollywood Journey Today, Veer Pahariya has made his mark in Bollywood with his debut in Sky Force, which hit theaters on January 24. The patriotic action-drama, based on real-life events, showcases Veer in the role of Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, a Mahavir Chakra awardee.
Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force narrates India’s historic retaliatory strike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war. Produced by Maddock Films, the film stars Veer alongside Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur, and Sara Ali Khan.
From recreating Dard-E-Disco as a teenager to starring in a major Bollywood film, Veer Pahariya’s journey is a testament to his passion and perseverance in the entertainment industry.
