Biratnagar: In Morang’s Jahada, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and assaulted while out on her morning walk on Tuesday. She was found in an unconscious-like state with her hands and legs tied and her mouth gagged. Her sister said she went for a walk early in the morning but didn’t return.
The victim managed to signal for help when someone approached the area. The person informed her family, who then called the police. She was rescued and admitted to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar for medical care.
According to the victim’s sister, the attackers dragged her to a secluded bamboo grove, tied her up, and gagged her before assaulting her. A police team led by Deputy Superintendent Bed Prakash has reached the location and begun searching for the perpetrators.
Superintendent Narayan Chimariya visited the victim at the hospital and confirmed that the investigation is underway to uncover what happened and locate those responsible.
