A 72-year-old man named Min Bahadur Kumal has died under suspicious circumstances in Tumlingtar, Ward 9 of Khandbari Municipality.
According to his wife, two unknown people entered their house and strangled him while he was sleeping at around 12:30 AM on Sunday.
When the neighbors gathered after hearing about the intruders, they found that Min Bahadur had already passed away.
Police Inspector Ram Kumar Lamichhane said the death is suspicious, and security checks and questioning are being carried out at all checkpoints to find any suspects.
Police also said they will use trained dogs to help with the investigation.
Min Bahadur came from a simple family and lived with his wife in their house.
