After the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) imposed a trading halt on the troubled Karnali Development Bank, the stock prices of development banks have plummeted. In Thursday’s trading, the share prices of all development banks dropped.
In Thursday’s trading, three development banks experienced a negative circuit breaker. The share prices of Corporate Development Bank, Narayani Development Bank, and Sindhu Development Bank fell by 10%. The share prices of these three banks dropped by 10%, reaching Rs. 1399.50, Rs. 1156.50, and Rs. 846 per share, respectively, as reported by NEPSE.
Similarly, the share price of Sapta Koshi Development Bank dropped by 9.44%, while the share price of Green Development Bank decreased by 8.40%. Additionally, the share price of Excel Development Bank fell by 4.42%.
Despite a 4.19-point increase in NEPSE, the share prices of all development banks decreased today. The development bank group as a whole saw a decrease of 2.48%. Today, NEPSE recorded a total trading volume of NPR 5.32 billion (532,92,74,000). In today’s trading, Prabhu Bank had the highest transaction volume, amounting to NPR 507.7 million.
