COVID-19 Claims Life of Ilam Woman in Biratnagar

A woman infected with COVID-19 has died at Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar.

The 39-year-old woman from Suryodaya Municipality in Ilam passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital on Tuesday morning, according to hospital manager Dipesh Rai.

She had been admitted to the emergency ward earlier that morning. Rai said she had been suffering from health issues for about a week, including fever and difficulty breathing. On Monday, she underwent a test at Birtacity Hospital in Birtamod, where she tested positive for COVID-19.

Following the diagnosis, she was transferred to Nobel Hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, she died during treatment. Her body has been handed over to the police, as per standard procedure.

According to the Koshi Province Health Ministry, COVID-19 cases are reappearing in the province. So far, 8 people have tested positive—4 from Jhapa, and 2 each from Morang and Ilam.
