The Kanti Lokpath, connecting Hetauda to Kathmandu, is now open for vehicles after repairs to a damaged diversion caused by flooding in the Bagmati River. The road had been blocked when heavy rains washed away the diversion near Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 in Makwanpur.
Officials from the Makwanpur District Police confirmed that the diversion has been restored, and traffic resumed on Friday morning.
Earlier, from October 10 to 12 last year, floods in the Bagmati River damaged the access route to Baguwa Bridge on this road segment, prompting the creation of a temporary diversion to keep vehicles moving.
Additionally, police reported that a dry landslide involving rocks fell on Thursday morning at Bhimphedi-8, near Bharyangdada, but it was quickly cleared to ensure safe passage for vehicles.
This repair brings relief to commuters relying on this important route between Hetauda and Kathmandu.
