Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has stated that royalists have been proven to have a criminal mentality. He made this remark on Tuesday morning while congratulating the newly elected officials of Press Center Nepal at his private residence in Khumaltar.
Chairman Prachanda mentioned that while the Maoist Centre was conducting its campaign, reactionary forces attempted to rise and create chaos, prompting them to organize a massive pro-republic demonstration in Kathmandu. However, he claimed that the royalists, under the guise of a public demonstration, incited violence, thereby proving themselves to be criminals.
He said, “While our party was engaged in the campaign, reactionary forces began to rise and cause unrest. We saw that if we did not take immediate action, the situation could lead to a disaster. So, we temporarily put the campaign on hold and held a massive gathering in Kathmandu. After the reactionaries caused chaos, two people—a working journalist and an ordinary laborer—were killed. This proves that the Maoist Centre is firmly standing for and leading the republic, while the royalists have a criminal mentality.”
Chairman Prachanda also highlighted that, for the first time in Nepal’s history, they had launched a Terai-Madhesh awareness campaign focused on the Hulaki Highway, during which thousands and even millions of people engaged in dialogue and many joined the party.
Meanwhile, Chairman Prachanda also informed that the CPN (Maoist Centre) is preparing for a massive demonstration by the Newar community in the Kathmandu Valley. He stated that following the recent large pro-republic demonstration led by the Socialist Front under Maoist leadership, preparations are underway for a massive Newar community protest, and he urged the media to properly highlight its significance.
He said, “Now, we are considering organizing another major event in Kathmandu, where all indigenous nationalities, especially the Newar community, will participate in a grand demonstration. We have already begun preparations for this, and you must establish its significance through media coverage.”
Chairman Prachanda expressed that since the indigenous nationalities and communities carrying deep cultural and historical traditions will take to the streets, the message conveyed by this demonstration will be exceptionally powerful. He said, “When the indigenous nationalities of the valley and a community with a long cultural and historical tradition come to the streets, the message it sends will be even more powerful.”
