A 17-year-old boy drowned while swimming in the Tamakoshi River, according to Dolakha District Police Office spokesperson, Inspector Dataram Adhikari.
The victim, Prabin Tamang from Orang, Bigu Rural Municipality-2, had traveled to Jagat, Bigu-1, to take his Secondary Education Examination (SEE) at Gaurishankar Secondary School. On Thursday, after completing his first exam in compulsory English, he went to the river with friends to bathe.
While swimming, Prabin drowned, and his friend Sonam Tamang immediately informed the police for help. Prabin had been staying in a rented room in Jagat to attend his exams.
