Raghuji Pant, a senior leader of CPN-UML, has been appointed as the new Education Minister. The announcement came from the Office of the President on Wednesday evening, following Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s recommendation.
The post became available after Bidya Bhattarai resigned on Monday. Raghuji Pant, who is also a UML standing committee member, had previously served as the Labour Minister.
Prime Minister Oli also removed State Minister for Energy and Water Resources, Purna Bahadur (Kanchharam) Tamang, from his position. The dismissal was delivered by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, according to a source close to the Prime Minister.
